The History Lalith Athulathmudali College was begun from 1963 January 2nd At that time there was 24 chidren and 4 teachers. It was at Parama Dhamma Chethiya Pirivena. It was suggestion of Mapalagama Vipulasara Thero. From then to 1963 January 31 st the principal was P. Subasingha. On 1963 February 1 st Mr. M. Wijayapala was appointed as principal within two months the number of students increased to 250. After one year the school was shifted to the building which was situated here. In 1975 November 4 th unfortunately Mrs. M. Wijayapala was passed away on duty. On 1975 November 24 th Mr.T.S. Silva was appointed as principal. At that time only the primary classes was been held. From 1983 the classes were extended to grade 10 and the number of students were 2450 and there were 80 teachers. From 1991 February 8 th Mr. T.S. Silva retired. From then Mr. M.D.W. Piyatissa was the principal. On 1998 Fbruary 2 nd he retired and Mr. Roger mahaliyana was appointed. On 2005-07-28 he retired and mr. H.E. Amarasena was appointed as principal. On 2006-06-05 Mr. H.E.
